The publication, “Conversations in American English”, by H. Robert Smith, gives beginning and intermediate English as a Second Language (ESL) students opportunities to develop their English conversation, listening, writing and reading skills. Though the activities in this book follow a certain structured sequence, students are given ample opportunities to freely express themselves in various culturally, relevant topics. Each lesson in “Conversations in American English” is designed to provide extensive practice in speaking English. Students also receive adequate practice by simply completing each chapter activity.
